EnfieldKITE is seen as a leader in the STATE, and works to heighten awareness and the use of local resources that promote a well-rounded and quality early childhood experience. KITE aims to have a community that understands and values the importance of all children having the chance to enter kindergarten well-prepared to learn.
School Readiness
The KITE Collaborative serves as the Enfield School Readiness Council and fulfills the purpose, policies, and regulations as outlined in the School Readiness Statue under (C.G.S.) Section 10-16r(B).
“School readiness grant funds are an important part of our preschool program for staff, children, and families. The funds allow us to receive professional development for the staff which helps us become better educators. The funds give us the ability to purchase new instructional supplies yearly for the children to explore. School readiness grant funds also help us strengthen family relationships by providing us funds to have parent engagement activities throughout the year!” Heather Pinto-Cohn, Lead Preschool Teacher, Enfield Child Development Center
