Gerald Calnen Honored for His Dedication to Early Childhood

On May 10th, 2023, members of KITE, the Town of Enfield, the Board of Education, Enfield Public Library, Enfield Family Resource Center, Stowe Early Learning Center, and the community participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in honor of  Dr. Gerald Calnen. Gerry is a long-time resident of Enfield, a retired Pediatrician, and a current member of the Board of Education.  He has dedicated his life to the betterment of children and families in Enfield responsible for bringing Circle of Security, Child First, and Sparkler to Enfield, and has been a strong advocate for infant and child mental health.  He has been a mentor and a model for so many, and this new bench, installed at the Pearl Street Library, is a gift to Enfield so that everyone in the community can experience in some small way, the goodness of our beloved Early Childhood Champion.
