On October 8th, KITE held its 2019-2020 Annual Meeting for the first time over zoom. The theme for this year’s celebration, “How KITE Adapted to the challenges of Covid-19 to help children and families in Enfield”.  The meeting welcomed an impressive array of over 40 guests, each uniquely involved in the lives of early childhood.  From educators to legislators, clergy to pediatricians, parents to funders, KITE’s 2020 successes centered around collaboration.

The evening kicked off with an introduction from Congressman Joe Courtney with a legislative update. In his intro, he noted he represents 63 1/2 towns in Eastern Connecticut, “what you have happening here in Enfield is really special. It doesn’t happen by itself. It really takes a lot of persistence and commitment. Enfield has done an amazing job getting people from the private sector, local, state and federal government to do some innovative and exciting work”. he then introduced Skip Kodak, President of LEGO, headquartered in Enfield, and thanked LEGO for their financial commitment to early education.
